Environmentally Friendly Wedding Rings

Blog / Environmentally Friendly Wedding Rings

While some of my readers undoubtedly want their wedding day to be exactly how they've dreamed of it, no matter the cost, why not try to keep the impact your special day has on the environment to a minimum? I know for many of you this is already a concern.

Wedding planning with the environment in mind can be tricky especially if you have a lot of guests flying in from out of town. Thankfully, these wonderful rings can cut down the effect of your wedding on our world.

Green Karat is an online retailer of ecologically friendly wedding and engagement rings.

So what does that mean? Well unfortunately the rings that you purchase from your regular jeweler are often very far from being friendly to the environment, quite the opposite in fact.

Mining for gems and precious metals often occurs with very little consideration for the environment. Frequently, harmful materials such as mercury and cyanide are used to disperse gold from rock. Moreover, not only do these chemicals damage the environment, but the health of the mine workers, many of whom come from developing nations and cannot afford health care to treat illnesses developed as a result of mining.

While companies like Green Karat have a limited market share they are undoubtedly a step in the right direction for the wedding jewelry industry. Why not check out their online store today? Two Products I particularly liked were the Canary, Uncaged engagement rings and their Celestial Love wedding rings.
