What Every Bride Wants Her Bridal Party to Know

Blog / What Every Bride Wants Her Bridal Party to Know

Most brides know that the wedding day is her big day and they aren't afraid to say it and demand that things go their way. However, this can be a touchy issue when it comes to the bridal party as these women are very close to the bride and the bride may not want to step on anyone's toes - her day or not. Below are some things that every bride wants their bridal party to know.

Smile - This is very important. Whether it's too hot or too cold outside for pictures, or you are incredibly bored during the best man's speech, paste a smile on your face and keep it there. There will be pictures taken throughout the entire day whether you are aware that the camera is focused on you or not. These same pictures will be cherished by the bride and groom for years to come so whatever you are feeling, act happy about what is going on around you.

Help - This may seem like a no-brainer but many people, including brides, don't like to ask for help. See what needs doing and offer to lend a helping hand doing it whether it be adding final touches to hair and make-up the day of or sending out invitations months before.

Be a Good Friend - This too may seem like stating the obvious but weddings are very stressful and the reason for being there may seem lost at times when you yourself get stressed out. Always remember that this is the bride's day and that the stress will pass. Don't let a good friendship go awry because of it.

Don't Complain - About anything, to anyone. Being asked to be part of a bridal party shows how much the bride truly cares about you and it is an honour to be asked. If you feel that you really can't perform to the task, gently and nicely tell the bride when she asks you to play a major role in her day. It will be an awkward conversation but she will be more grateful if you do it this way than if you agree and end up tarnishing her special day.
These are just a few of the things that all brides want their bridal party to keep in mind on their big day. Most importantly just remember that this is the bride's day. Ask where you can help and do everything you can think of to make her big day truly special.
