New Trends in Bridal Showers

Blog / New Trends in Bridal Showers

There are new trends emerging when planning a bridal shower. Instead of hosting them at hotel conference rooms, loved one's homes, or restaurants, hosts are really stretching their imaginations to make for truly memorable showers!
A small shower that is meant just for a few close friends will now often be held at a spa, making it a treat for everyone. Each guest usually books and pays for their own treatments and adds a little extra to treat the bride. A great shower gift is for all the guests to chip in and buy a gift certificate to the same spa for the bride.
Ceramics parties are also becoming very popular. Some ceramics studios will cater to showers where the guests can create their own hand-painted pottery pieces, which they can then take home to keep as a memento of the event. Food arrangements can be made and the bride can open the gifts after everyone has created their own masterpiece.
An afternoon tea is a great way to host a bridal shower. Many cities have hotels and inns that specialize in afternoon teas and these are served in lovely surroundings. If you can't find an inn or a hotel, or you would rather make it more personal, you can serve the afternoon tea at someone's house. Include scones, homemade jams, tiny fancy sandwiches, small tarts, and miniature cakes as refreshments.
These are just a few ideas for adding a modern twist on an old-fashioned tradition. Showers are a great way for everyone to relax and enjoy a day of great fun and great company before the big day so as long as the party has a fun theme, everyone will be sure to love it!
