Ways to Personalize Your Reception

Blog / Ways to Personalize Your Reception

Adding a personal touch is a wonderful way to create a truly memorable event for you and your guests. Any idea that reflects your own imagination, talents and hobbies will give the reception a special flair.
If you have a way with words, write a poem for each couple. Print them out on your computer in a special font and then cut and paste them on decorative cards. Place them at each place setting. Both partners will need to have input on this as they will know best the personalities of their guests. Although this may be a bit time consuming, it's a very special way to thank your guests for being a part of your big day.
If gardening is your thing, coniferous seedlings can be given for a spring or summer wedding. These can look pretty when wrapped in burlap and tied with a pretty ribbon. Or you can wrap several flower bulbs in tulle and tie on a personalized tag.
If you like to bake, you can make sugar cookies and shape the cookies as the guest's initials. After the cookies have cooled, ice them with colours that reflect your wedding scheme. You can also make a variety of small cookies and place them in a small glass cookie jar. Wrap a nice ribbon around the jar and place the name of the guests on a tag. These can be placed at the table settings.
If you love chocolate, you can either make your own or buy a wide assortment of small chocolates and wrap them in cellophane tied with ribbon. You can also paint tiny wood boxes to keep the chocolates in. On the boxes, you can write a nice quote or parts of your favourite poem.
There are many ways to personalize your wedding reception. The sky is truly the limit and the options are only limited by your own creativity.
