Although times have come a long way in the way of weddings, there is still often some confusion as to who should pay for what.This list will hopefully clear up some of the confusion. Although these are by no means set in stone, they provide wonderful guides for those that are unsure.
The bride's family is responsible for: all reception costs, church fees, groom's rings, invitations, flowers for church, bridesmaids, and reception, music for ceremony, transportation for bridal party, gifts for bridal party, groom's gift, accomodations for bridesmaids, if necessary.
The groom's family is responsible for: bride's ring, clergy, bride's bouquet, corsages, boutennieres, rehearsal dinner, transportation for groomsmen, gifts for groomsmen, bride's gift, lodging for groomsmen, if necessary.
The bridal party is responsible for: their attire, the shower, gift for the couple.
The groomsmen are responsible for: their attire, the stag, gifts for the couple
