New Trends in Wedding Rings Emerging

Blog / New Trends in Wedding Rings Emerging

Brides-to-be are looking at different styles and settings for their wedding rings than they have in the past. While princess cut and Asscher cut diamonds are still very popular, pear-shaped and oval diamonds are becoming increasingly popular.
One of the biggest trends emerging is for brides to go back to a more antique feel with their rings while keeping it modern. Intricate details and vintage designs are being combined with filigree settings and flower designs. Matching engagement and wedding rings are becoming very popular as brides seem to like the idea of wearing two rings to create one precious piece of jewellery.
The prong setting is still the favourite it seems but a cleaner design is becoming more popular. Settings in which the diamond lies flat against the setting such as bezel-set or hammer-set are also becoming the setting of choice. Pave settings have also become a huge trend. This is where the setting surrounds the central stone or is displayed as a side adornment.
Platinum and white-gold metals are slowly edging out yellow gold as brides opt for this chrome look. For brides who want the best of both worlds, two-tone engagement and wedding rings are also becoming preferred metals.
And colour isn't only limited to the metal. Coloured diamonds are also becoming quite a rage. Pink, canary yellow, and blue diamonds are among the top sellers.
Current trends for engagement and weddings rings are affecting everything from setting, colour, and cut. Although a lot of brides still prefer to stay with a traditional look, there are many options for the bride who wants her wedding ring to have a more contemporary feel.

Great blog.
Another trend is to use blue diamonds in engagement rings and wedding rings.
