How to pop the question

Blog / How to pop the question

When you are ready to ask your one true love to take your hand in marriage you should know one thing. Every woman has dreamed about this day since they were little girls just as they dreamed about their wedding day. The most important thing for you to do is to make it as memorable as possible. You may be wondering how in the world you can accomplish this task. With these tips, you should be able to come up with the perfect plan that is sure to get you a positive response.

Before you decide how you wish to propose, you have to look at the girl you wish to marry. Would she like a traditional proposal down on one knee, is she family oriented and would prefer her father’s blessing, or would she rather have you propose while out hiking or skiing? You must consider what you think she might like and then figure out how to use in this with your marriage proposal.

Of course, you do not want your proposal to be like her best friends or anyone else’s. You want originality and creativity to play a major portion of the who, what, when, and why when you ask for her hand. This is where you will really have to use your brain. Think about the first time you met, where you went on your first date, or where you went on your first anniversary of dating. These could be great places for asking her to marry you. Maybe you know a special place that you both enjoyed going throughout dating such as the beach, a log cabin get-a-way, or a special park. These spots are also ideal.

If you are planning to have a complex proposal say at a resort hotel with violins playing, be sure to organize everything in advance. At many resorts, you can find the help you need in orchestrating a very romantic and well-structured proposal.

If you have made the decision to keep the proposal a secret until you ask, then you should now consider the engagement ring. Would she prefer to pick the ring herself or would she like it more if you chose the ring? If you would rather have her help with choosing the ring, you can always use the new trend. You can always use what is called a placeholder with a short note stating the both of you will visit a jewelers and choose the ring together.

No matter, how you plan to propose, just be yourself and relax. Think about where you want to ask, how you want to ask, the rest will take care of itself.

I agree that making the proposal is important, but picking the right person to pop the question to is Oh, so more important!

I just wanted to say that from a girls perspective, every girl dreams of the day she is proposed to by the man she loves. For me, it was in an idyllic setting one evening on holiday. I have what I think is an amazing solitaire ring, and the whole experience was a dream. I have just ordered my wedding rings from the same guy who made my engagement ring. If anyone needs some advice on engagement rings or wedding rings, I am sure he would help, since he was pretty good getting back to me when we were enquiring.
