John McGinley and Nichole Kessler Wedding

Blog / John McGinley and Nichole Kessler Wedding

April 7th, 2007 was a special day for Dr. Cox of Scrubs as he stepped out of character to be himself, John C. McGinley and said his "I do's" to his fiancée Nichole Kessler.

John chose Max, his son as his best man. Max was the hit of this wedding proceeding as he escorted Nichole down the aisle and then made a mad dash away from the ceremony. At this time, John screamed out to ensure his nine-year old son Max was fine. Max has downs syndrome and was only doing what he thought was his duty as being the best man.

Max had left to find Haley, one of the John and Nichole’s chocolate Labs. Hudson, the other one was already at the altar and Max wanted them to be side by side.

The wedding was held at the couples Malibu home with a reception held in their living room. They enjoyed treats such as sushi with hydrangeas and orchids all around. The first dance was to the Ben Harper’s “Waiting on an Angel.”

The McGinley’s will head off to Italy for their honeymoon and then return home to work on remodeling their home. They both wish to have a large family and need to prepare a house large enough to accommodate more children. In Johns’ words, "I want seven," proclaims McGinley, himself the second of five children. Nichole added, "Bring it on!"
