Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful. There is so much to plan and sometimes, in a very limited time. Every bride wants her wedding day to be the picture perfect day she has been planning for a lifetime and this amounts to a lot of stress. Here are some tips to take the stress out of wedding planning. –>
It needs to be remembered by everyone that this is the bride and groom's day. Therefore, they need to have the final say in all decisions that have to do with the wedding. So many people have so many different ideas on how weddings should go that this puts added pressure on the couple that they just don't need. Be polite but firm saying something such as, "Thank you for the suggestion but we've decided to go a different way."
Hiring a wedding planner can take a lot of the stress out of wedding planning. However, the planner needs to understand the same concept - the bride and groom have final say. The planner's insights should still be taken very seriously. They have after all, done countless weddings and know what works and what doesn't. But they still need to respect the couple's wishes at all times.
Having contingency plans can make the wedding day much less stressful. Everything is probably not going to go exactly according to plan and knowing that there is an alternative will make the day run that much smoother.
Keep your wedding party to a minimum. Having too many people involved only makes for more organizing, more work, and more stress. Only choose the people that are very important to you and that you can't see having your big day without them standing by your side. Don't worry about asking your mother's, best friends daughter. If you can still have the wedding of your dreams without these people, do it. It's your day, no one else's.
And lastly, don't procrastinate. Do whatever you can as soon as you can do it. This will keep you from being frantic when the big day is just weeks away and you still have an overwhelming number of tasks on your to do list.
