Setting A Date And Time For Your Wedding

One of the most common problems that newly engaged couples run into is when to have their wedding. Even though there are some tips that you can follow to determine the best date and time, the fact of the matter is, each couple is different, and there will no doubt be many different factors that go into the decision making process.
The first thing to remember about setting a date and time is that this is supposed to be a fun time in your life. Even though you may more than likely run into some issues it is no reason to get upset and angry with your significant other - this will only make the situation stressful.
After everybody is on the same page, start out with a bit of basic planning. If you get the groundwork laid, moving forward with finer details really will become much easier. As far as the basics are concerned, it is very important to make a guess as to how long you have to plan the wedding. Some people are in a hurry to tie the knot, whereas others may have a couple of years. By determining your time frame for planning early on, you will be in a much better position to start making decisions. For obvious reasons, the more time you have the better your chances of getting everything you want.
Determining the time of the year you want to get married is also a key factor. For most couples the summer months come out on top as the most popular. But remember, just because these are the most popular months does not mean that you have to get married then.
When making a decision, you may want to consider your family and friends. After all, these are the people that you will be inviting to your wedding. Even though your wedding day is supposed to be about you, it is still sensible to plan around your guests. If you are having a big wedding this can be a bit more difficult so the only thing that you can do is try to accommodate as many people as possible. It is important to remember that some of your guests may have prior commitments or travel restrictions. This is the major reason why many people plan their wedding for a Saturday. This will allow the majority of people to attend because they will not have to work, and this gives them time to travel to the destination.
Wedding style is also something you should consider. Formal weddings are great for cool summer evenings, whereas early breakfast weddings are perfect for more informal occasions. While you are free to have your wedding at whatever time of day you choose, heavy formal attire may not be best suited for a hot summer afternoon and if your wedding will have a lot of children in attendance it is usually better to have it earlier in the day.
Perhaps one of the biggest details that go into planning a wedding is money. This holds true from the planning process all the way until the end of the reception - money is almost always going to come into play.
In order to combat any money issues that may arise, you will want to make sure that you set a budget as soon as possible. By doing this you will have the ability to stay on track without having to suddenly come up with extra money along the way.
If you are on a tight budget there are a few things that you can do in order to drive your costs down. Even if you are not trying to save, you may want to take advantage of these details so that you can have more money for the honeymoon or other areas.
While most people get married in the summer, weddings during these months are almost always more expensive. You will run into more competition for both vendors and venues and you may find that the prices for just about everything related to your wedding climb in June and August in particular. One of the best ways to keep costs down is by getting married during an off peak month. If you can find a way to push your wedding to an off peak month, between January and April you will most definitely save money along the way.
Saturday is the most popular day for weddings. So again, you will end up paying more this day of the week. If you hold your wedding in the middle of the week you should hopefully be able to save on almost everything from the church to the reception hall to the wait staff. Many people overlook this option because it can be difficult on working guests, but if you can find a way to make it work, you should save a lot of money in the long run.
Overall, as you begin to look into the date and time of your wedding you will learn one thing for sure; each option comes along with its own set of pros and cons. Regardless of when you want to have your wedding you will probably have to deal with a bit of compromise. By getting started on the planning process early and staying organized, the level of compromise that you have to undertake can be held to a minimum.
Planning a wedding is one of the most enjoyable times of anybody's life. If you go with the flow you will find a date and time that both you and your partner agree on in no time at all.
