The bachelor party! If that does not put any thoughts into your head then who knows what will. The bottom line is that the bachelor party is among the most talked about part of any wedding. Even though it does not hold any major significance, this party is what a lot of guys look forward to. In addition to the fun that the groom will have at a bachelor party, the other guys in attendance will also have a lot of fun - bachelor parties are the best of the best when it comes to a night out with the guys!
The main point of having a bachelor party is so that the groom will have one last night out with his friends as a 'single' man. It allows for the groom to bond with his friends before the wedding day. They will be able to help calm him down, while also giving him a pep talk or two. Bachelor parties are meant to be fun, but at the same time they can be quite functional as well. Getting a good word of advice from a close friend can go a long way before your wedding.
Traditionally speaking, a bachelor party is usually hosted by the best man. He will be the one that gets everything together, and will also be in charge of getting in touch with all of the attendants. This may not seem like that big of a task, but all in all this is a very important night. There is not a lot that can be messed up, just use some common sense, and get together with the groom on what he has in mind.
One thing that you must remember before any bachelor party is that it can cause problems between the engaged couple. This has been going on for many years, and it is safe to say that it's a problem that won't go away. It's not uncommon for brides to hear stories about crazy bachelor parties, which can put bad thoughts in their mind from the very beginning. To combat this problem, one of the best things to do as a groom is have your best man talk to your fiancée about his ideas for the party. He can put her mind at ease by telling her exactly what the plans are, and ensuring her that nothing will get out of control. This may not seem like a big deal, but it can go a long way to help ensure relationships aren't strained. Asking this favor of your bachelor party host is something that you should definitely look into.
The reason that bachelor parties cause friction with couples is because of the bad name that they have gotten. A lot of past bachelor parties consisted of strip clubs or strippers arriving at the party. And even though some bachelor parties do have this kind of entertainment, it is highly outdated. This is not to say that it does not go on, but the fact of the matter is that it is much less common nowadays.
Instead of strip clubs there are many more reasonable bachelor party ideas to take advantage of. One of the best is getting everybody together for a day at a sporting event. This can be anything from a baseball game to a football game. Whatever you think will be enjoyable for everybody is the best way to go.
In addition, golf outings to out of state courses are also becoming more popular. This means that the bachelor party will be more than one night long. It can consist of a day hitting the links at a top notch course, and a night out on the town. The downfall to this is that the cost of an out of town event can be a bit pricey.
As the groom, it is very important to have a conversation with your host before they set up the bachelor party. The reason for this is quite simple. You can tell them what you are willing to do, as well as what you want to stay away from. As long as they know your limitations there should not be any problems. But this is not to say that they are necessarily going to listen to you. In this case, you must be strong enough to not go through with anything that you are not 100% comfortable with. Avoid anything that might upset your fiancée by simply sticking to your guns and only doing what you want to do. Remember, it is your bachelor party, and you have the right to say no.
To go along with talking to your bachelor party host, also talk with your fiancée. Answer any questions that she may have, and reassure her that everything is going to be fine. You may also want to give her an idea of what the activities are going to be.
As far as the date of the bachelor party there are no rules to follow. Many years ago bachelor parties were held the night before the wedding. This may have been a lot of fun then, but this is rarely the case in today's day and age. There is simply too much planning that has to go on, and too many wedding day activities to jeopardize them by heading out the night before for a bachelor party.
A bachelor party is one fun get together for all of the guys. It will be a night that you and your friends remember forever. If the host prepares it well and coordinates with the groom and his fiancée beforehand everything should go off as planned, ensuring a great time for all!
